Sidebar & Widget Manager now fully supports bbPress plugin.

All bbPress plugin pages (Mani Forum page, Topics no reply, Topics popular, Search, User profile pages) are available in Sidebar Widget Manager interface so you can replace any sidebar you like with a custom one for one or few pages.

Sidebars for individual forums are also supported, as well as topics, topic tags, all topics from a certain topic tag.

All bbPress filters can be easily combined with the existing Sidebar Widget Manager filters. This means you can have a new sidebar for any bbpress pages combined with some default WP pages or posts, etc.

Widget management follows the same logic as before. You can display or hide a widget from any sidebar so you have even more control over content.

All WooCommerce pages (Shop Base, Cart, Checkout, Pay, Thanks, My Account, Edit Address, View Order, Change Password, Lost Password) are available in Sidebar Widget Manager interface so you can replace any sidebar you like with a custom one for one or few pages.

Sidebars for individual products are also supported, as well as product categories, products tags, all product pages from a certain product category or tag.

All WooCommerce filters can be easily combined with the existing Sidebar Widget Manager filters. This means you can have a new sidebar for any woocommerce pages combined with products, categories and some default WP pages or posts.

Widget management follows the same logic as before. You can display or hide a widget from any sidebar so you have even more control over content.

You can now easily display different sidebars for different  languages in combination with all currently available plugin setting for pages, posts, custom post types, taxonomies, archives, page templates, etc.

Separate widgets can be displayed on or hidden from a sidebar based on language selection as well, just as easy as the sidebars.

The new filters for sidebars and widgets are very flexible tool for filtering content based on language.

The new filter works for all new sidebars created by the plugin and all widgets in Appearance -> Widgets. Existing sidebars can be replaced with sidebars visible for each or few user roles.

• Update Widgetize pages light to 1.5 version
• Update Sidebar Manager light to 1.3 version
• Update Widget Manager light to 1.3 version

The examples bellow are for updating Widgetize pages light to 1.5 version. For the other two plugins the process is absolutely the same.

Updating to Widgetize pages light 1.5 version

Let’s say you have Widgetize pages light 1.4 (or anything bellow). Here is what you need to do:

• Most important! – deactivate version 1.4  (or anything bellow) that you are currently running. Go to Plugins -> find Widget Manager light -> click Deactivate

• Then you can go ahead and update your plugin.
• Either hit the update new button under the plugin name
• Or upload the new files manually via FTP
• Activate your plugin

All my sidebars disappeared after installing the new version. What to do?

This means that you haven’t deactivated the plugin before installing the new Widgetize pages light 1.5 version. There are two options to fix this:

• Option 1
• deactivate and delete the plugin
• go to Developers tab on the plugins page – here
• download version 1.4 (not the latest, but the one before that)
• install that version
• follow the process above – do not forget to deactivate before updating to 1.5
• Option 2
• via FTP go to your installations folder.
• Open wp-includes/widgets.php in a text editor and replace the following strings:
• replace ‘function otwrem_is_active_sidebar’ with ’function is_active_sidebar’
• replace ‘function otwrem_dynamic_sidebar’ with ‘function dynamic_sidebar’
• Go to Plugins in WP admin and activate your plugin

• Vertical widget alignment

This is the default WordPress widget alignment. The widgets in sidebars (widget areas) with vertical alignment are arranged in a column bellow each other.

• Horizontal widget alignment

The widgets in sidebars (widget areas) with horizontal alignment will be arranged in a row next to each other (lined up on the same line). Such widget areas are fluid and very flexible. The widget area width will be equally divided between all widgets in this widget area. Horizontal alignement is usually used in widgetized pages or footer widget areas, but can practically be used anywhere.

This is now a very simple thing to do and requires no coding knowledge.

The Sidebar & Widget Manager for WordPress is now equipped with Easy column interface for Widgetizing Pages. This means that you are now able to create your custom page layout in as many rows and columns as you like and add as many sidebars (widget areas) in the columns as you like.

Bellow we will go through the process of widgetizing a page in WordPress:

1. Create sidebars (widget areas)

You can create as many sidebars (widget areas) as you need in just few clicks.

Go to Sidebars and Widgets -> Add Sidebar. Fill in the name of the sidebar, make it active, choose horizontal or vertical widget alignment and save.

2. Create a new page

Create a new page: Pages -> Add new

3. Create page layout

Bellow the editor of your new page you will find a metabox called: Sidebar & Widget Manager – Widgetize page. This is where you create your page layout before you insert the sidebars (widget areas).

Click on “Inser Row”. A lightbox will open. Select the number of columns for that row from the dropdown. Then select the type of columns you want to have.

Create as many rows as you need the way described above.

4. Insert sidebars

Now when you have the column layout set up for your page you can go ahead and insert sidebars (widget areas) in those columns.

Click on “Add Sidebar” for each separate column. A lightbox will open. Select the sidebar you want to insert from the dropdown menu. Click insert.

Insert sidebars in each column the way described above.

5. Drop widgets in

Now when you have the sidebars set in the page content area go ahead and drop some widgets in.

Go to Appearance -> Widgets. Find the sidebars that you just inserted in your page and drop widgets in.

Widgets should now appear in your page content area.
